Thumbs up World Championship Off-Road Races - Featuring Robby Gordon

2010 World Championship Off Road Races presented by AMSOIL welcomes Robby Gordon

Not a big fan of Robby in Nascar, but HE kicks butt in offroad, and its awesome he takes the time to come out small community, for this HUGE off road race~

Crandon, Wisconsin. Crandon International Off-Road Raceway is pleased to welcome Robby Gordon and his Polaris-Toyo Tire Race Team to the ‘BIG HOUSE’ for the biggest race of the year September 3-5th, 2010! This Labor Day event features the largest crowds enjoying the biggest races of the year as drivers compete on the 1.75 mile Crandon International Raceway.

“We are proud to have Robby racing at Crandon once again” said Cliff Flannery, President. “Robby Gordon is not only a fan favourite but he also fires up the other drivers, it will be a great weekend to kick of the Amsoil Cup Race”. The six- time off-road champion is a popular figure on the NASCAR circuit, a familiar face at the Indianapolis 500, and now becoming a well known competitor in the famed Dakar Rally. “There is no other driver in the world like Robby Gordon as evidenced by his accomplishments posted on PlanetRobby.com” Flannery continues “No one else can claim to have headquarters from Daytona to Dakar”.

Gordon last made an appearance at the ‘BIG HOUSE” during the World Championships in 2009 as he lead the field for most of the race in his Pro 2 Polaris Toyo Tire Chevrolet before getting hit near the Amsoil Finish Line and crossing it in reverse. This year promises more excitement as drivers compete on the renovated track for faster times and bigger purses.

Kyle Busch has tough night in TORC race: Kyle Busch endured a disappointing off-road racing debut in the Traxxas TORC Series Presented by AMSOIL PRO 2WD class on Wednesday night at Route 66 Raceway in Illinois. Busch made a quick exit from the race, falling out on the second lap with a broken rear suspension. Even though Busch didn't get the result he wanted, he still enjoyed the experience. "It's fun," said the driver who swept NASCAR's three national series races last week at Bristol Motor Speedway. "I enjoy going out there and going out to the sand dunes and messing around and jumping some stuff out there. "Anytime you can put a big heavy vehicle up in the air like that, it's always cool. For myself, running the Traxxas TORC Series PRO 2s, it's fun." While Busch may have gotten most of the attention, it was Ricky Johnson who earned the trophy, taking the victory at the end of the night. Johnson received another gift when PRO 2 points leader Rob MacCachren broke down at the white flag and finished seventh, his first non-podium finish of the year.(SPEED)(8-26-2010)
    Tough night.....Poor Shrub ....
I'm hoping he has a tough night racing the Truck Friday at Chicagoland.
