Why I don't like the Chase

Just how bad did Tony run before the chase and if they want to claim a champ w/the chase THAN YOU CAN'T BRING IN OUTSIDE HELP FROM OTHER TEAMS. CARL wasn't racing the same team in the CHASE------------
    Doughboy doesn't even rate 2nd------------

BTW--- this includes 5wins in the chase

Chase---what a farse--sure doesn't prove who was the better driver but it sure proved who needed outside help, and plenty of it.

Really well than you are saying he just ran around the track before the chase. To bad he didn't use the same bunch in the chase that he ran with within the reg season. You can believe your way and I will believe my way but the facts kinda swing my way . 27 races and barely makes 3rd in points or worse. Than comes back and take 5 wins . Sorry I don't buy it for a second not if he was using the same crew he had during the 27 races. NO WAY.

BTW why do you think he got rid of his CC????? hahaha

All the Fords work closely together so there's no reason Hendrick and SHR can't do the same.

Tony won, Carl lost. They all knew the rules when the year started.

It's disappointing and I hate it, but it's just how it went.

Carl will get him next year!

..... 3rd in points is bad? Really? So it didn't occur to you after he made the Chase that the whole team (including Grubb) just stepped it up a little more and became dominant?

Andrew, if Carl finished 2nd all those races this season, how many races do you think he'll win next season?

Re: Why I don't like the Chase

You can roll all you want -- Carl will win at least 5 and a lot more than the #27 car will win. That's for sure.

    Personally I hope the
#16 car will get 3 or 4 wins next year. #17 at least 4 wins. How am I doing? #27 car maybe one win on gas mileage.MAYBE

    I am hoping for 36.

But, realistically, I think a repeat of 2008 with 9 wins is within reach. They were very strong at points this year. If they can step it up a bit, I think a season with 5-9 wins is very much doable.

All the Fords work closely together so there's no reason Hendrick and SHR can't do the same. >>>>>>>>>sorry Andrew but you can bet that Fennig was busy working on Kenseth's car, certainly not on Carl's car. I'm sure when a question was asked they would share info.Outside of Fennig who would Bob go to. You can't compare Carl's team who were working on the Chase cars with the SHR Team. BTW It should really read Hendricks Team. Hendricks had all his CC taking turns on that SHR chase car

There isn't any comparison between the type of help these two team received.

It's been quiet here for a couple of days. WOW

Sorry I'm not a believer in "it is what it is" which doesn't make it right

Are you telling me that you think Knaus wasn't trying to win another title with the 48 because he was too busy helping Tony?!?

Re: Why I don't like the Chase

Absolutely he was helping out. Once they knew Johnson was losing ground Chad was helping too. Hendricks have 3 maybe 4 darn good CC. We have two. One of our two was definitely going for the win and Fennig was until Vickers took Kenseth out THE SECOND TIME. Fennig never lost faith until that second hit by Vickers. Hendricks knew Jr -not a possibility Martin- not a possibility-- Gorden I am sure it didn't take long for them to know -no cup and JJ they waited a little longer but I believe the Hendrick saw the light before the fans did. These Hendrick CC were in and out working on the SHR cars. You can bet Grubb did very little and only what he was told to do. Chevy wanted that win and EVEN MORE THAN THAT ----CHEVY WANTED TO MAKE SURE FORD DIDN'T WIN.

    We'll show them next year

I think you are reading too much into it, but I understand your thinking. The crew chiefs were still working on their cars but also sharing information with the 14 team. Not their fault that they have 6 good crew chiefs and we only have a few.

Though, I argue that our crew chiefs are pretty darn good too. Osborne, Fennig, Puccia (still learning but getting there), Erwin over with the 43. Not a bad group. Not sure who they have on the 9 box now - is it still Parrot?

is it still Parrot? ---Yes I think so and that's going to help Marcos next year. It takes more than a year to get use to Parrott. LOL I like Parrot but he is a bit gruff.

I am hoping Biff and his new CC have it figured out by Daytona.

Andrew I have been asking a friend of mine who is in the mist of things whatever happen to Doug. (can't think of his last name). (Bif's old CC) He thought it was strange because nothing to much was repeated about the split at that time.
I got to get after him again to try and find out . I know it's old news but Doug and Bif were a possible winning team, Do you remember who Bif's CC was when he won those 5 races. I remember someone asking Knaus who won and Chad saying dam he won another one. (and he wasn't happy)

Re: Why I don't like the Chase

Notice that Doug Richert has not been with another competitive team since he was released at Roush. So, clearly it was something pretty serious. No idea what it could have been, but he never found another quality job after that, pretty much floating around between start and park teams ... wonder why??

Re: Why I don't like the Chase

Roush is very secretive even among his own employees. Doug has a job now with another FORD Team. I forgot with who, but I read it somewhere recently.3

So picking on Paul Menard because I like him helps prove your point? Wow, you're mature.
