Re: Good News
I'm glad they're staying with Roush, as an associate, but I was kinda hoping they'd remain as a primary at least on a limited schedule...doesn't look good for the #6, especially with nothing signed for Kenseth for next season. Kinda doubt RFR would run two cars without backing.

One race deal as primary. Wow, that is a huge cut. From 36 races on the 6 to 1 on the 99. That has to hurt Roush Fenway's chances of having 4 cars on track next year.
Looks like the Ford brigade will be smaller next year with 3 Roush and 2 RPM cars.

Re: Good News
The thing that irks me is how Nascar continues to compete with teams for sponsorship. It's like eating your young in a sense where if there aren't enough competitive teams or teams in general you don't have a series. I think it hurt to when UPS signs a deal with college football to be a sponsor with them. (at least according to Mike Mulhern) I've heard some people at Roush tell varying guys in the media that if they can get funding for the 17 squared away they would run the 6 unsponsored for the year and try to pick up sponsorship throughout the year. It amazes me that Ford may potentially only have 5 full time teams next year, considering they seem to have their act together organizationally. My guess is that RFR is back at 4 in 2013 with Stenhouse or Bayne getting the nod in the 6 coming back. Just frusterating that some sponsors decide to stick with their teams that don't perform.

We can only hope that one the
cars can win the championship & that helps on the sponsorship front. Do you guys think Jack would move Edwards, Biffle, or Kenseth to the
since that was the # was his original he started with. It's sounding more & more likely that we're going to lose one car next season.

No. I don't think he would change their numbers. They are all veterans who have run the same Cup number for their entire career. I'm sure he will get the 6 back on track soon.

Re: Good News
Darn I thought UPS was going to sponsore the remaining races left. Fastenal was only going to sponsor 18 races ,right?? I don't keep up with these sponsors. I know I should

Re: Good News
I think Carl is set now ... don't quote me on this, but I think this is how will shake out:
Fastenal ... 17 races
Frosted Flakes ... 2 races
Cheez-It ... 2 races
UPS ... 1 race
Aflac ... 12 races
Aflac is not confirmed to be returning, but there are numerous rumors out there, and consensus seems to be that they will come back in a limited capacity with the 99, so 12 races sounds about right.
