    did Petty just say...

(on the race hub) that RPM was planning on a two car team?? Or is he just not showing his hand so to speak. I was thinking that they were going to make some more announcements but after hearing that I'm not so sure. Petty was saying that they would be more focused with 2 teams but I was hoping for 3 at least. Did anyone else are that?

I don't want to have 3 just for the sake of having 3 - especially if it isn't fully funded. That just weakens the other two teams.

If it could be fully funded, I would like to get a younger driver (Sorenson or Cassill) in a third car.

Oh I would definitely want them to have a fully funded team(s) before they do anything. If that means 2 teams that's fine but I thought they said they had other announcements to make.

Maybe the announcement will be about Sadler without an extension. I see him with Harvick.

I hope they can have that third car next year and put Sorenson in it.

Nothing happened. Car was off early on. Took two tires on a stop and lost some spots. Came back at the end for a top-10 finish.

Two cars for RPM in 2010 and: [Richard] Petty said Tuesday that the main focus at Richard Petty Motorsports will be on two cars next year. The organization is running four teams this season, but Kasey Kahne is leaving to join Red Bull Racing next year before heading off to Hendrick Motorsports in 2012. Also, Paul Menard leaves after this season to join Richard Childress Racing. Richard Petty Motorsports signed #43-AJ Allmendinger to a multi-year contract extension and added Marcos Ambrose [in the #9 Ford] to its lineup for next season. Petty said the organization could add another car "if something falls out of the sky, then naturally we're open.''(Roanoke Times), also Richard Petty says team has left it up to #9 crew chief Kenny Francis on if he returns and that they expect Best Buy back (all but contract done).(Dustin Long Twitter)(8-25-2010)

Really, other than maybe Sorenson, who could drive for the third team? It isn't like there are any good drivers out there available. I could see running a partial schedule for someone like Awesome Bill, but he's tied into the Wood Brothers.

This means that we will have two top 35 spots that we can sell off. I hope they don't send them to these lower tier teams who can't hold the spots when they get them.

I don't know who else they could sell them to. Certainly would want to keep them in the FORD camp, so the 26 and 38 are the only real options.

With the future unknown why would they sell their points. I don't understand you guys. I didn't read where Petty stated DEFINITELY TWO CARS IN 2011. I guess it's me I just don't give up that easy. We FORD FANS have live thru a lot in the past two racing season and even tho (including myself) have been disappointed in our result on the track WE STILL HAVE 3 FORDS IN THE CHASE. And BTW I believe if we keep going as good as we have been , we may just take the championship that should have been ours in 2008, just a little late, but no problem we'll take it.

I Still can't get over the fact Carl wins 9 RACES and they say JJ is the Champ and thats what I think about the chase. DOESN'T PROVE A DAM THING.

This sounds like they've pretty much accepted that they will only have 2 cars:
"if something falls out of the sky, then naturally we're open.''
I'm still hoping for another car, but it doesn't look good.

It's a shame Budweiser didn't decide to stay, but I can't really picture Marcos with them anyway. He is too clean cut to represent a beer sponsor.
