RCR - two teams in 2011

RCR - two teams in 2011; leaving NNS: Richard Childress Racing is getting out of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, a series it dominated as recently as four years ago. Team owner Richard Childress said this week at Iowa Speedway that RCR would run two teams in the Camping World Truck Series for Childress' grandsons, Austin and Ty Dillon. "I want to give the grandsons an opportunity to run," Childress said. "We've got Ty and Austin, and they're not going to be ready for Nationwide. We could've kept chasing Nationwide; we had sponsorship we could've kept going with. We didn't have enough sponsorship to run two teams, and running one, it didn't really make sense." Childress said the new Nationwide Series cars the team built will be used by Kevin Harvick Inc. in a deal between the two teams. (NNS Racing)(7-31-2010)

Ty Dillon has made only one ARCA start and is still a rookie in the K&N Pro Series, I knew this would come sooner or later but I don't see how he's ready.

You're probably right. That ARCA race TY finished 2nd... not to shabby.~IMO
But I didn't expect much from Austin either when I first heard he was gonna run in the Truck series.
6th in points, so these kids really might have some talent...?.. Guess the Truck series is a good place to see if they have the talent.

Nice to see Richard going slow with his grandsons...letting them cut their teeth in the "lower" series~Seat time is a MUSt,and glad Richard uses his head, and NOT his heart...I hope that makes sense...LOL

    It does. For me anyways.

Well I remember reading a thing about a nationwide only team and they would be happy with this, if they are still around. I don't remember the team. They didn't mind racing cup drivers, but they did mind racing the cup teams
    My favorite drivers:
    Cup: 39, 00, 5, 16, 21, 87, 9, & 31
    Nationwide: 21, 16, 87, 11
    Truck: Johnny Benson, 31, 62, 88

All I ask of RCR is that they give Tim George Jr. One more year, I am a big fan of his (although my favorite ARCA driver is Tom Hessert) and I would like to see Childress give him one more year and if after next season he still hasn't won a race then they could release him without me complaining.
