Kyle Busch the dirtiest competitor in NASCAR history?: the website Complex Media listed the 50 dirtiest athletes in sports history. And two NASCAR drivers are on the list. #18-Kyle Busch ranked 38th (ahead of Mike Tyson who was 40th) and highest among NASCAR competitors. The website noted Busch's recent episode where he flipped off an official during a race, the guitar-smashing episode after winning the Nashville Nationwide race and other things. One other competitor from NASCAR made the list. #99-Carl Edwards was #48. He earned the ranking for wrecking Brad Keselowski at Atlanta in the spring. With no other NASCAR drivers listed, that would make Edwards the second dirtiest competitor in NASCAR history, according to this list.(Virginian Pilot)(12-16-2010)

no, for one thing kyle is not dirty......maybe whiney but not really dirty & carl's not unless he's provoked lol. this study must have been done by people who don't follow nascar b/c brad didn't even make the list & he's as "dirty" as carl if not more. furthermore "guitar smashing" shouldn't be mentioned, that's not "dirty" that's just immature as well as giving the bird to officials, just immature not "dirty." remind me never to read Complex media's website.

I've seen tony stewart do more stuff than both of these combined he ever wrecked his own team mate in daytona and then blamed it on denny.

Disagree. Kyle doesn't really drive dirty, he's just reckless at times. Same with Carl (the only reason he wrecked Brad at Atlanta and Gateway was because Brad hit him first). When it comes to driving the car, Kyle and Carl are a lot alike. Out of the car is a different story... ;) They're pretty much opposites out of the car.

Brian Vickers 05 Oct 'Dega? That's dirty...

Disagree for Carl, Kyle I'm in the middle on. At times he is dirty, at times he is not.

I think you mean 2006. And that was not dirty. Even ask Jr. That wasn't even close to dirty driving. That was Brian following the 48 and somehow his car got going faster in that short moment than Jimmie. To be considered dirty driving there as to be obvious and intentional wrecking. So by that definition, Carl could be considered dirty. Not Kyle, because his is just plain wreckless.

OMG....REALLY???? What about JJ "clipping" Sadler this year...wasn't that DIRTY???? There are WAY dirtier drivers than Kyle and Carl..I am NOT a Kyle fan,but HE is by far,NOT DIRTY...Competetive??? YES....I am so sick and tired,of so called "reporters" accusing Carl of being a dirty driver~Whatever...The people who made this list, probally have never watched a Nascar race in their lives...

You're probably right, and IMO that list is way off. Tyson and Tanya Harding should be leading the list. Earnhardt Sr. should be on the list and Kyle (I have to agree with others) is wreckless not dirty. So, I guess they got one right..... sorry ..... JMO

Intentionally wrecking someone for them racing you hard on the final lap is dirty. That was the race that made it impossible to defend him. And where he lost a fan--actually I heard of someone else quit cheering for them at that time.

BUT i still don't like brad.

in that race i still don't approve of what carl did, he should've just let brad have that one & be the better man.......easier said than done when you're in the moment, being that brad did give him a nudge in that final corner to move carl up the track. i thought nascar handeled that case in the bast way possible, giving carl a 60 pt. penalty (which put the points between brad & carl back to where they were before that race which was ~200 iirc). the main people that suffered in that race were all the teams/owners that were involved in that mess.

How many drivers have been nudged but didn't retaliate? Many. That was a very low blow and a classless move. Imagine if Ricky Craven or Kurt Busch had wrecked the other because of their nudging. We wouldn't of had that amazing Darlington finish!

Well..I can't wait, until Brad "nudges "JR,JJ,Gordon,or Busch, and can't wait to see what happens then...YOU tell me a driver, who has NEVER "paid back"!!!!! Was it a bonehead move??? Of course~ Does it make him a "dirty driver" ...HELL NO...MHO~

Did Carl "NUDGE" JJ when HE won in Atlanta????? NO~He raced JJ,as JJ raced him...He raced Brad,as Brad raced HIM...

I agree Jenny ... he races people just like they race him. He doesn't wreck people for no reason, only if they instigate the confrontation...

so you think Carl is a dirty driver??? To be honest with you YES. I know he's your favorite driver as well with others here. I mean no disrespect.

When Rudd was contemplating retirement, I considered Edwards as my "favorite" replacement driver. To make it perfectly clear, I nixed that idea before this years Brad conflict. But I must admit that was the nail in the coffin (so to speak) for me. Sorry! ~JMO

WOW...YOu entitled to YOUR own opinion...Just amazes me that YOU would think that of him..I am an Edwards fan...HE makes mistakes(guess YOUR driver is "perfect")...When He came back onto the track during the NW race, and about took JR's hand off,I was PISSED,at HIM...I was very PISSED at him, when he did what he did to Brad in the Atlanta race~I know HE isn't perfect....BUT....................I also know,I have DONE things when I have been PISSED as well, only difference,I don't have a tv crew following me,and asking ME the same questions, over, and over, and over..

I am just waiting for the day, when Brad takes MR. PERFECT,Mark Martin out..(BTW..remember when Martin took Carl out in a NW race, and HIM and Carl talked after the race, and worked it out,AFTER THE RACE???)...Will see what Martin does to Brad, and THEN I can't wait to see what fans have to say...

Again, this is MY opinion, and I am NOT one of Carl fans, who doesn't think HE does NO wrong. I know he does~I am just tired,of Brad doing the crap he does, and it seems to be okay for others to retaliate...HEck..Denny Hamlin announced on TV,he would get him back in Homestead...HE DID..NOTHING WAS DONE...WHATEVER....

Yatesracing: This is a Ford Fans forum, but that does not mean we always cheer for only fords like you. I doubt Andrew cheers exclusively for all fords. We all have differing opinions of different drivers, teams, and manufactuers. There are drivers I will likely always cheer for (Mark Martin, Newman, Reutimann) and some I never will no matter the manufactuer or team (Jimmie, Jeff Gordon, JPM, Keslowski). And sometimes our allegience changes. (Dale Jr, Edwards, Hamlin)

No driver is perfect.

For me, the thing with Carl is he continues to race Brad dirty. Yes, you do need to stand up for yourself, but don't continually fighting it. As the bigger man Carl would step back sometimes--not always. If you never step back, you become the bully.

As for Denny, he was a lot a talk and little action. Carl's been little talk and a lot of action.

But I still don't like Brad.

Carl and Brad seem to have a lot of respect for one another now. It just took TWO times for Carl to get it into Brad's head that "you can't push me around." I think they get along well now, and no longer race each other "dirty".

You guys know me, I'm probably the only person on this board who doesn't hate Brad Keselowski. I actually sort of like him; his determination is what impresses me.

But I think what Carl did to him at Atlanta and Gateway was justified. Brad wrecked Carl early in the race at Atlanta, so Carl had a right to pay him back. At first, I thought he took it a step too far at Gateway because all Brad did was bump him, but Brad's history of doing stuff that could have been avoided is pretty big and I'm sure Carl had that in mind at the time.
