Cars and Engines to R&D Center after Dover: After the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway Sunday, NASCAR took the cars of #48-Johnson, #24-Gordon, and #33-Bowyer back to the R&D Center for further inspection. In addition, the engines of #48-Johnson, #31-Burton, #2-Busch,<<<<< #99-Edwards, and #18-Busch were taken as follow up to dyno tests conducted after the Michigan race.>>>>>>(9-27-2010) I wonder why the checking on the H/P again:?:

It's not a big deal, they do it periodically.
Gotta make sure no one is cheating ;)

It was NOT just those two. You are mis-reading. They also took the 2, 31, and 48. So, overall, they got 1 Ford, 1 Dodge, 1 Toyota, and 2 Chevies engines.

NASCAR usually does not release dyno numbers. Sometimes sites will pick them up through "anonymous" sources so we'll get some idea, but we'll probably never see the actual numbers.

taken as follow up to dyno tests conducted after Mich.>>> the comment follow up on these two cars is what threw me. Were anyone of the previous cars mention tested at Michigan?

The follow up is for ALL of those cars listed:

Just periodic HP testing. No "conspiracies" here.

The HP is good on the new FR9. The drivers have been very complementary of the power under the hood. It's the setups that some of the RFR cars are struggling with. ;)
