This horrific accident happened last Thursday, after they recieved around 2 inches of snow that morning....This community is very small, and sadly, has no ambulance service..The closest service had to come from Laona,WI,which took them over 28 minutes to get there~Makes ME appreaciate the volunteer ambulance service we have my area...

I do know the one family, who lost their daughter, and I saw the dad yesterday, and HE is NOT doing good.. Told him we were all thinking of his family, and praying for everyone involved~

Here is the article....which is from the Green Bay Press Gazette~

2 killed, 8 hurt in crash on snow-covered highway

GOODMAN, Wis. (AP) - A teenager was driving his five siblings and a neighbor to school when he lost control along a snow-covered highway in Wisconsin, triggering a three-vehicle accident that left two dead and eight injured, sheriff’s officials said Friday.

The two teens who died and five of those injured attended Goodman-Armstrong Creek School District, which has only about 150 students. Extra counselors were brought in to help students and staff cope with the deaths, officials said.

"It’s awful," said Marinette County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jerry Sauve. "It’s a small community. When something like this happens, it just very traumatic."

Ryan Goode, 18, of Armstrong Creek was driving a minivan when it skidded out of control because of the snow at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 8 in Goodman in northeast Wisconsin. Two pickup trucks hit the van, ejecting four of its seven passengers, Sauve said.

The accident killed Goode’s brother, Brandon, 18, and neighbor Audrey Ipsa, 15. Ipsa decided to ride with the family instead of taking the bus to get to school earlier, Sauve said.

Jacob Goode, 12, was in critical condition Friday at a Green Bay hospital. His 5-year-old sister, Emily, also remained hospitalized but was expected to recover, Sauve said.

Their other three siblings - Ryan Goode; Rebecca Goode, 14; and Matthew Goode, 17 - and three men in the pickup trucks were treated and released. Investigators weren’t sure whether the minivan’s passengers were wearing seat belts because the vehicle was torn apart, Sauve said.

The Goodman-Armstrong elementary school and high school are like a large home school and the surrounding community is close, said principal and superintendent Anita Grace.

The district brought in five counselors from surrounding districts to help its three counselors talk with students Thursday, Grace said. Normal classes weren’t held, with students instead being allowed to watch comedic movies, write, listen to music or draw.

Friday was more structured but the district tried to stay flexible, depending on what the students needed, she said.

District officials plan to bus students and teachers from the high school to the funerals. Ipsa’s funeral will be held Thursday, though a service for Brandon Goode hasn’t been set, Grace said.

Students decorated the two victims’ lockers and made T-shirts they plan to wear to the funerals, she said.
